StreetCats, Inc is a non-profit organization whose purpose is to shelter cats that have been abandoned or lost and to find new homes for them. The cats that we take in are adoptable cats only.  We are a society that does not place a time limit on a healthy cat's life; we keep them until a home is found. Our cats come from a variety of situations. Sometimes relocation or a change in family structure forces someone to find a new home for his or her cat. Many times the situation is beyond their control, and the decision is a difficult one. We help by acting as a transition home for the cat until a new one can be found. We can not take in feral cats as we don't have any place to take them.

Other cats are actual strays with no owner. Perhaps they have been abandoned or have never had a home. These cats are often not spayed or neutered and add to a growing feral cat population. StreetCats has an aggressive feral/stray cat spay/neuter and release program called "A Stitch In Time". We are currently spaying and neutering approximately thirty and more of these cats each month. We DO NOT have the volunteers to help trap the cats and take them to the vets.  It is up to the person getting the voucher to take care of the cat.  We do have traps that you can borrow for a limited time.  This program is made possible with the help of several local veterinary hospitals and is funded by grant money and donations.

Our StreetCats are housed here in our Adoption Center at 6520 E. 60th St. and fostered in volunteer's homes. The StreetCats Center is open Tuesday through Saturday, 10:30 - 5:00. The proceeds from the Boutique are all directly applied to the adoption program.  We have lots of toys for your cats and gifts for your family and friends.   Our Adoption Center and Boutique is run completely by volunteers.

All of our adult StreetCats are tested for feline leukemia and feline aids (FIV), as well as vaccinated. Cats that are not already altered are spayed or neutered before placement. Our cats receive proper veterinary care and premium cat food while they are with us. The adoption fee partially covers this; the remainder is subsidized by our fundraising efforts.

StreetCats, Inc. is a registered non-profit, 501(c)(3) corporation and all donations are tax deductible and eligible for most corporate Matching Gifts programs. These donations make it possible to reduce the large population of homeless cats in the Tulsa area. StreetCats, Inc. believes all cats deserve a home, and we will continue our efforts to make this possible.
