CAT GALLERY - UPDATE HERE
Mary is a very striking black and white tuxedo with an estimated birthdate of 12/3/08. She’s been in a single home since being rescued as a kitten but her owner married someone with an overly aggressive dog and they feared he would hurt Mary. Her former owner says she is sweet and loving and has gotten along with some dogs in the past. She also likes to play and be petted but does not always like to be held.
Sensi is a small tortoiseshell female with an estimated birthdate of 8/14/14. She is cuddly, sweet, and playful and will definitely be a lap kitty. She hasn’t been around children but she’s very good with adults. She previously lived with another cat that was adopted out before Sensi came into StreetCats. She probably would not do well with dogs. She was rescued by a woman who loved her and hated to give her up but her son was allergic to her.
This picture makes Izzy look heavier than she is but she is a round kitty weighing 9 lbs. Izzy is a calico with a lot of white on her. She is spending a lot of time in an open cage but she does get out and roam when she thinks no one is looking. Her estimated birthdate is 5/13/13 and she loves to be petted. She was found by a man who had dogs and the dogs and the cat couldn’t be together so he gave her up to StreetCats. Her front legs seem to be a little shorter than other cats so she isn't a big jumper up on things. She also loves canned food which she gets a small portion of morning and night like all the cats that want it.
Archie-Girl is a 7year old Blue with thick long hair and she is declawed on all 4 feet. She’s little weighing only 7 lbs 6 ½ oz. as of 4/6/17. She came into StreetCats on 4/6/17and she's been in a cage but is spending more time out now. Unfortunately she’s been passed among family members and none could keep her because of children, allergies, and moving – no fault of her own. We’ve been told she sometimes is a lap cat but doesn’t like to be held. At different times in her life she has lived with another cat and another dog but she’d probably like to be the only cat in the home of a mature person. Once she is comfortable she is friendly and sweet but initially she may be a bit shy.
My name is Beamer. I’m a front declawed orange male tabby, and you might think I look a bit familiar – I have been in StreetCats twice before. I started out as a young man having been born in March 2009 but I was returned thanks to my owners remembering that StreetCats takes back their previously adopted cats if a family situation changes. The volunteers don’t want any of their adopted cats to ever end up on the streets again, and I am so happy for this – I get to see my human friends again AND find a new home! I have an interesting habit you might find endearing. Have you ever heard of wool sucking? It’s a strange term, but that’s what I do! This means I have a tendency to occasionally suckle on things like clothes and blankets. My volunteer friends at StreetCats seem to think this is really sweet and cute, I hope you do too! I am very easy-going, a lap kitty and hugger, and enjoy play time and social time especially with people but not so much with female cats. With the proper introduction, I should be good with a cat-loving dog. If you are looking for a lap kitty that loves attention and would play with me when you get tired of me being on your lap, then come and check me out. I really am a sweet dude that loves people.
Lil Bean is a very handsome blue short haired male whose estimated birthdate is 3/1/14. He’s grown since he was named as a kitten but he is only about 8 lbs 5 oz. He is very shy and needs a loving home where he can learn to relax and feel safe. His former foster mom says he will eventually feel more comfortable and he loves to be held. He enjoys canned food and treats. He was initially rescued as a kitten by a woman who could no longer care for him due to the loss of her husband.
Miss Kitty is a gorgeous long haired red tabby with a birthdate of 11/4/12. Her owner died and friends took her to City Vet where she lived in a cage for a number of months before StreetCats was able to bring her in. She is very laid back but now enjoys having freedom to roam. She is sweet and loves to be petted and brushed. She likes the lower level of a hallway cat tree so you might have to bend down a bit to start making friends with her. She loves canned food and will definitely watch for it in the morning and afternoon when she realizes a special treat will soon be coming.
Miss Bobbi is a beautiful Brown Patch Tabby with White and she has a bob tail. Her colors are darker and she’s not to be missed. Her estimated birthdate is 4/1/11 and she is a sweetheart. She’s very outgoing and loves to follow people around if it suits her. Otherwise she is taking naps on top of the cages so she can watch us all when we are cleaning. Her former foster owner says she is unbelievably sweet, very cuddly, loves to be petted, and can be held as a baby. She has lived with other cats and a dog.
